I'll be attending The University of Colorado Boulder next year and I'd love to get some info on the bouldering scene (locations, problems, and gyms). Thanks!

CU Boulder alumni here.

I hope you're not paying out of state tuition.

Anyway, two gyms in Boulder. Boulder Rock Club (www.boulderrockclub.com) and Movement (www.movementboulder.com). Both are good gyms, but Movement seems to be the more popular gym these days (it's newer).

There is a bouldering gym called The Spot (www.thespotgym.com)

I think a bus route can get you reasonably close to the gyms. You get a bus pass with the fees you pay the university.

Trad/Sport climbing 10 mins west from campus up Boulder Canyon.

Primarily trad, a little bit of sport, 15 min south of campus at Eldorado Canyon. There is entrance fee of $8/day or I think it's $75 for an annual pass.

Climbing and Bouldering 5 mins from campus (trailhead) to 20-45 min approaches at the Flatirons.

I am not into bouldering so I don't know the best locations for bouldering.

Good luck in your studies.

There is a website called mountainproject.com which has a lot of information about bouldering in Boulder that you may find helpful.

There is waaay to much to respond to here, but here is a comprehensive online guide to Flagstaff Mountain (which is 10 mins from Campus by car).
flagstaffmountainbouldering…

Also, get the newish Front Range Bouldering Book ... great guide to local/regional action. Enjoy!

Thank you! That's more than enough info, I can't wait to get out there and start some projects. Thanks again.

I'll probably snag that book while I'm moving in! Thanks
