Hey Carolina climbers, I was wondering if a bouldering guide for the Asheville/Boone area existed? I will be down in that area this summer and was looking for good info. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

There isn't (and may never be) a guidebook for Boone bouldering, but for Asheville, there are a few. First off, the Rumbling Bald Bouldering guidebook is in between editions and out of print...although you may find one in the area at an outfitter or online still. The new guidebook won't be out before then either, I think, and its definitely not somewhere you want to be in the summer anyway. There are a couple of other guidebooks that include areas near Asheville, like Pisgah and Corner Rock. The Upstate Bouldering Guide includes selected routes at the North Side of Looking Glass and the Nowhere Boulders in Pisgah (45 minutes-1 hour from Asheville) and the Southern Appalachian Bouldering guidebook includes other Pisgah boulders like the East Face and Nose Boulders at Looking Glass, Pilot Rock, Stony Bald and the Graveyard Fields. Corner Rock has some of the hardest problems in NC clustered on one incredible rock...an amazing place worth visiting! Both are available at Tinyurl.com/UpstateBouldering

Bring something from New Glarus and I'll be your personal guide.

Does anyone have an update about the release date for the new RB bouldering guide? According to a google search, one source says it is scheduled for release "Fall 2015," but the last update from the author was in winter 2014. Hoping it's sooner rather than later!
