Any PNW folk been up to Squamish since the shutdown? I caught a steal deal for a hotel a couple months back and I'm supposed to be going up there tonight... Needless to say I'm a bit concerned as far as crossing the border goes.

I would think that the border would be considered one of the "essential components" of the government and will be open.

Not PNW, so I don't know if the crossings back from BC are any slower than usual, but I crossed the Alberta border last week and had to wait for a car in front of me...

On the drive up the only stop is on the Canadian side and they have a fully functioning government. You only have to stop at US Customs on the way home.

Here are links to current border crossing wait times. Right now they all seem okay.

Canadian side: cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/bwt-taf/men…
US side: apps.cbp.gov/bwt/

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
