The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description
Start at an arete and lieback up and into a dish and then work up the face with good hands and smears for the feet to a committing move about midway as you move right into a groove/crack that leads to the top. Descend the low-angled groove on the northwest face to descend.
Rated V3 in the bouldering guide but it's much easier than that, although it has cleaned up considerably since the FA.
