Keeping climbing areas open and conserving the climbing environment

Access is always an issue here. MORE INFO >>>
Please do not litter and observe all regulations. We had to fight to regain access at one time, and we don't want to lose the privilege again. Local ethics and refuge regulations are that no bolting is permitted unless expressly authorized by the park. Leave the hammer and nails at home, no fixed gear please. Everything will go clean.

By the name of this route, I can see Oklahoma has changed very little. Disappointing to say the least. If it ranks as a bomb, why not delete this offensive "route" from the database?

You can not change history! The route was named quite a long time ago, times when use of the word was not so offensive as some find it today. Still, this is an old route, Arnold did not like it, but I think we should wait for more input before you guys try to stomp it. I can see that CO still has their higher than thou attitude. You do not know Oklahoma, and you are a fool if you base your perception of the state on a single route name. Further, what exactly is Oklahoma not changing from? How do you know it hasn't changed? You haven't logged a single tic in the state, so by what I can see, you don't know a thing about Oklahoma. The locals are capable of policing themselves, and they don't need any help from Colorado or Texas for that matter.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma and know the culture quite well. I don't think it's "higher than thou" to not post some offensive bomb-rated route. Do you really think anyone will use this beta?

In at least one guidebook it's referred to as "Black Mans Jump"

You don't know the history? What a joke. The name is beyond offensive and your rationalizing it is laughable. Get it off the database.

The route in question, added to the second pitch of water streak(by trending right off first set of anchors and not using the second set), makes the second pitch of water streak feel like an actual climb and not just a steep scramble with no pro. When protecting the travers over the lip, use extra long runners to avoid rope drag. Belay in the horizantal crack about 40ft above the top of Man's Junp. While I never liked the origanal name, the beta is worth keeping.

Oklahoma has changed quite a bit. This route once had a much more offensive name. Whatever, you are bound to catch at least one or two butthert liberals on mountain project.
