I will be vacationing with family in Black Butte ranch and will be looking to get a Couple of half days climbing in. Is there any spots closer than Smith?

Black butte is really tasty. Given the choice I might drink a 6 pack of these over of doing some clamberin'

The Sisters boulders are close to BBR and is a nice boulder spot/ top rope area. It is in the Falcon Guide to Oregon Rock Climbing

The Sisters bouldering area will surely disappoint you. To say that there is top roping there is a bit of a stretch. Just go to Smith.....or kick back and drink a mess of that aforementioned porter (personally I think it's the wrong time of year for such a libation. You'd be better off knocking back some Ninkasi Total Domination).

I agree with Costigan--Smith is definitely worth the drive. Of course, if you fail to make the trek I suggest studying Deschutes' Twilight ale; the label will convince you that you missed out!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
