Hi all,

I'm visiting the area for 10 days and am wanting to take some friends climbing for the first time. I was curious if there were any spots local to the Westminster area that would be good to set up toprope or easy single pitch trad leads where we could climb for the day. We would be climbing this Friday morning. Any advice is appreciated.

Canal Zone in Clear Creek has pretty good option for beginners and easy access.

I see beginners on the Boulderado in Boulder Canyon all the time. Never climbed on it myself and according to the beta on MP setting up anchors can be a little tricky. Could be an option though. Also, the Sport Park in Boulder Canyon has some easy well protected stuff.

Have fun out there!

Ok im experienced with building anchors and a 5.8 trad leader. I just dont want to take classic climbs away from legitimate parties. Was wondering if there was a well known beginner spot. Mainly thinking for ease of TR setup and accessibility for my buddies.

Lookout mountain/car crash crag in golden has 2 easy trad leads, single pitch, super easy access. Bolted hangers on most routes.

Boulder Canyon has a bunch.
