Here's an old photo of the day we carried a Lazy Boy Recliner up to the East Bluffs. Around 1980.

Much to our credit we carried it out at the end of the day. Jeff Kane, rock climber and professional backgammon player in the chair.

the old tree seat below Brintons was the best airborne natural seating.. ,,,think it's rotted and gone by now. Otherwise there is a natural rock bench 5 ft off the ground for perfect seat right below Easy Overhang/Last Gasp routes.

I think the tree at the base of Chicago is perfect:

That y'all carried the chair back out is what makes that story worth repeating! Total cool.

That tree looks like so many slanted back rest tree belays in the park. Lots of great ones to pick from for sure.

Pffft! Real climbers just grab the weakest member of a nearby group and sit on them! :P

My vote also goes to the tree by Chicago, it really stands out. Just don't fall asleep in it!

The boulder across from Congratulations gives belayer the ability to "check out" everyone coming up to the crag.

Agree that boulder in front of Congrats is/was a DLFA meeting spot; one where the jacked plans for the day could be decided while drinking the first swill of the day.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
