I'll be climbing at Bayamon II on Wed. Any must-do routes in the 10-12 range? I can read the online guidebook, but I'm looking for personal opinions. Thanks.

I was out there about a year ago climbing with Jorge Rodriguez who had bolted a bunch of routes out there. He was my cousin's ex boss at a accounting firm. We climbed some easier stuff that was pretty fun. Some of the routes I did that were pretty fun were Sucio y Damasiao 5.10a, Aventuras 5.10a, Deja Vu 5.10a, Under the Tree 5.10b, and ADD 5.10b. There are some really cool features on the rock. It looks like melted wax in a lot of places. The route Bee Attack & Wenguie's Revenge 5.10D was a route that while he was cleaning i.e. heavy machete work. He got stung by 400 some bees and almost didn't survive. When the bees started attacking him the rope got caught up around his leg as he was bouncing around. He went upside down and eventually was able to untie himself. Some other people in the park heard his screams and helped out and called an ambulance. Jorge said his favorite place to climb in PR was in Ciales. Taller routes, great rock and beautiful views. Either way have fun and if you see a 5'8" 45-50 year old man with dark skin see if it is Jorge and he will show you around. Have fun

I went to Ciales on Saturday and loved it. Such incredible features. My Right Foot was one of the most fun routes I have ever done.

Just thought I would report back. I went to Bayamon II on Wednesday. Some sectors were really hot and humid, but the Cave(Passilla?) sector was cool and dry. The best routes I did were Si Pero No(10a/b), and Chocolate Sky(11d), and Demencia Boricua(10a). Chocolate Sky was an incredible route!!! Great routes with incredible features and fun movement.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
