The Back Cliff has some superb long pitches with fingery flints and well-positioned cruxes. The recently developed ‘Workout Wall’ is a great place to pick up finger stamina for those up to the big grades. Also on offer is the Block Slab which has a number of nice, slabby pitches.
New Sector: The Balcony
On the left, northern most of two small outcrops above the path on the southern approach to the Back Cliff. The lower most southerly cliff is “The Balcony”, easily visible from the path, with a flat grassy base hidden behind some brambles. From here a scramble over an earth mound to the left leads to an inset bay with a fine flat wall of good rock capped by an overhang – “The Attic”. (Ukclimbing.com)
