Had to Bail today on the Ten Sleep Falls ice climb and left a 19cm BD Turbo ice screw and an oval carabiner. If someoone in the area happens to climb this and picks them up there would be beer paid for there safe return. Thanks and by the way Ten Slepp Falls is FAT!

I hope you get your gear back! I had the good fortune of losing a screw earlier this season and a heckuva nice guy found it, posted about it, and I had it back in my hand a week later.

That having been said... you bailed on a single 19cm screw? That's dicey as hell!

Why didn't you just drill a V-thread and leave a $5 sling instead of a $60 screw? They're stronger and cheaper!

jon,

I was belaying for him and neihter of us had anything to push a sling through (poor planning) and as far as bailing on the 19 being dicey, he downclimbed rather than lowered. He could have down lead it or done a number of other things, but the route was stout for the shape we're in (lack of ice climbing this year) and us not having a few things that we needed (v-thread tool). Fortunately, we had a nice hour and a half drive home that we discussed things that could have been done differently and that we'll do next time.

If anyone does come accross the screw I live in sheridan and travel to ten sleep regularly so i can pick it up for cole if that's easier.

Thanks,

Richard

Howdy, what is the best way to approach the falls in the winter when the old high way is closed? Cross the stream? Park at the end of the road? Thanks Much!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
