Description Suggest change

This is a supreme, Yosemite style, granite block with awesome boulder problems on its west and south faces. A great finger, hand, roof crack splits the inspiring block. The one time great landings, has washed a bit since the flood, but along with the overhanging arete and roof problems is
still classic. I discovered this on the Fourth of July, a day before the great climber John Bachar passed on, I thought it only natural to set it in stone as an ode to the tragically fallen master.

Getting There Suggest change

Drive up Boulder Canyon slightly past Boulder Falls for 8 miles. Park in large pull out on the right and locate the Lion's Den, hike up steep gully on right, east side of the Lion's Den Cliff to access the Law of Physics Crag, found just above And right of the Lion's Den. Bachar's Block is found setting on the summit of the Law of Physics Crag, approach around the left side to summit.

Alternatively:

Per Peter Beal: the posted directions to this boulder may leave you wandering confused by a plethora of small cliffs, steep loose gullies, trees, pricker bushes, and other detritus on this hillside. Another approach is one of the worst gullies I have used in the canyon. It might be better to use the gully west of Lion's Den and traverse east (climber's right) for a few hundred yards above that cliff.

Correct approach to Law of Physics and Bachar's Block.

This shows another gully, easily identified by two trees at its base, that leads to the Law of Physics cliff to the right or east of the Lion's Den. The line on the photo terminates roughly where the boulder is found, in a slot on the right, above Law of Physics.

The landing below this boulder is a steep slope and anything but great.
