Description
Atomic Energy is one of the most extensive and developed bouldering spots in the entire Naturita/West End area with over 100 problems on mostly high quality Dakota Sandstone. It is a 'must visit' area for Telluride/West End climbers. There is great camping amongst the boulders and outstanding sport/trad routes on the cliffs above. Full information can be found in 'A Guide To Bouldering In The Telluride & West End Areas' by Christian Prellwitz.
Getting There
From the junction of CO Hwy. 90 and Road EE22, drive 5.6 miles and turn right onto an unmarked dirt road. There will be a large boulder on the left (this is the Warm Up Boulder). You can park here or continue for another tenth of a mile on a rough road to an obvious large parking area.
