Description

The Longest, most dramatic and varied routes in the area. Some of the most classic sport and traditionally protected routes in the region.

Getting There

The same cliffline as Sams, easily approached by a one mile drive south, and parking at the near end of a guard rail on the right hand(west) side. Look for yellow fiber optics sign at the edge of the treeline. Locate the trailhead here. Trend right at the seasonal waterfall. A 7 minute hike to Painted Warrior Wall.

Tying in for the last time on the black

The Black 5.13a  AR : Sam's Throne and Surroundin... : Valley of The Blind
Beautiful route that follows the prominent black streak just to the right of painted warrior. This route is the best quality sandstone route I have ever been on. Unlike painted warrior, this route is not made of a broken system of flakes, but rather "molded" in bomber crimps. First pitch is 12b, and second is 12d. Done in 1 pitch it takes the 13a grade (and the only way to do it in my opinion!)....[more]   Browse More Classics in AR
