Description

The centerpiece of Kelly, this is the location of some of the canyon's most classic problems including Donkey Punch, Dope Lounge, Chinese Gangfight, and many other brilliant lines. You'll find days worth of excellent climbing in this small area. Lots of these problems are high with slopey topouts and bad landings - bring pads.

Getting There

Walk right from the Trailer Park past some nice-looking cliffs until you see the Donkey Punch Wall, which begins with a right-trending layback problem, on the left. Dope Lounge, an overhanging highball problem, is directly across the canyon.

Icy Mike V2-3  AZ : Kelly Canyon : Donkey Punch Area
The ultra-classic layback problem, a symbol of Kelly Canyon. Follow the left-facing rail to its terminus at the V-groove near the top of the cliff, then press out the crux slopey mantel. Boulder problems don't get much more aesthetic than this. There is an alternate start to the right on a sharp knob, following a vertical line of pockets and connecting with the rail about halfway up (a couple grades harder.)...[more]   Browse More Classics in AZ
