Does anyone know if any of the new line of Arcteryx harnesses have ice clipper slots? According to the photos on their website it doesn't look like they do. I know they used to make a dedicated ice climbing harness but the new line doesn't look like it includes that one. anyone know what's up?

The I340a harness has ice clipper slots.

I have the i340a, and haven't climbed ice in it (yet). I hear repeatedly that the slots are too far forward to be comfortable, though - the screws would be jamming into your thigh. Not first hand experience, though.

They will have either 3 or 4 slots, I can't remember which and it's not in the press release. Coming in March. I can go through my OR photos if you absolutely must know before then!

I like the slots forward. Find that it's easier to access the screws.

I've looked around a little online and it seems like what they have on their website is neither their full previous line nor their new line, which i have read about in various reports from this year's outdoor retailer trade show. What i suspect is going on is that they are only selling what they happen to still have in stock from their previous line. the new set does include an ice climbing harness along the lines of I340.

There are a lot of ice clipper slots, like 13 on a harness. I did a review a while ago when I first got mine. I like it. I think it's what remains of the old line they're selling. Can't speak to the new line but it looks like they do. That'd be a terrible design to make an ice specific harness without ice clipper slots.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
