Im looking for a new trad/ all day harness. I have been looking at getting a big wall harness but they just look so big and bulky. My regular harness just isnt very comfortable to sit in all day or even a couple pitches of hanging belays. The sides start digging into my skin and it just gets uncomfortable. I like the look of the B-360, I like that it has the extra gear loop and I like how small it is. I dont mind spending the money on the harness if its really going to be that comfortable. Does anyone have experience with it and what are your thoughts. I probably would not use it for big wall applications and would just get a proper big wall harness when I start doing multi day climbs. But for 2-10 pitch, long day climbs what do you guys think about this harness? and do you have any suggestions for other similar harnesses that would be very comfortable for all day use but not as big and bulky as the typical big wall harness. Also looking at the BD big gun but it still looks pretty bulky to me.

Thanks guys,

Lots of people use the B-360 for that purpose.

I went to Yosemite to big wall last season and my partner had the B-360 and I had the Misty Titan and Caddy (depending on what we were climbing). He started to complain pretty quickly about his harness cutting into his sides, and he's a small dude. I'll also add that after about 3 months of heavy use he started to see a bit of ware around one the hard points.

If you're a big guy I would go for something with plenty of padding (B-360 has practically none) , support and built for the long haul.

I've used the Titan hip section combined with my Caddy leg loops before when climbing routes that I have a whole bunch of gear. With this set-up the big bulky leg loops don't get in your way while free climbing but you also have the hip support from a big-wall harness. It sounds like we both enjoy similar climbing styles, long multi-pitch free routes in NC (i.e. Linville, The Glass, Knob, etc.), and these are the set-ups I've been using for years and have zero complaints.

You won't be disappointed with the Titan or Caddy, plus it's significantly cheaper than the B-360 and made in NC. Actually you could almost buy the Titan AND the Caddy for the same price of that flimsy B-360.

Call Misty and tell em' your size and everything and they will make sure your comfy for all the long beautiful free routes in NC!!

I love the comfort of the harness. I've used it on big wall attempts... and longer aid routes. The major downside to the harness are its gear loops. They are almost completely non functional when all six are loaded. Arcteryx sewed them too close to each other. The other major disadvantage is if you plan on using a caritool (ice clipper) on them again the loops were sewn too close to the front of the harness and under the gear loops so ice screws don't rack very well. I will be looking at a new harness for this fall season. As others stated misty makes a pretty legit harness. My GF has the Cadillac and it seems real nice.

Arcteryx has some of the best (in my opinion) athletes out there on their payroll. I'm not sure why they didn't pick up on this? I assume they climbed on it before they started manufacturing it? In talking to people I'm not the only person who has had the same experience with the harness.

I've been looking for a harness that will be comfortable for cleaning & bolting routes, and I keep coming back to Misty Mountain. Sadly, none of my local retailers carry MM harnesses, and I'd really like to try one on before buying online -- especially if I need to do cross-border shipping.

in the 3 years Ive been climbing and searching for that perfect/comfortable harness, I keep coming back to Misty Mountain. I live in Asheville and love the multi-pitch in the area. I love that Misty Mountain is local and sounds like a great company. I think Im going to try out one of their harnesses, either the Cadillac or the Titan. Looks like they have made a few changes to lighten them up a bit for 2014. I think I will have to try one. Does anyone have any preferences between the titan and caddilac? Im a fairly big guy and am stuck at the 5.7-5.9 grade with multi-pitch so Im not too worried about weight because Im climbing pretty easy stuff anyway. Im leaning towards the Titan just for the sake of comfort. Any guidance would be great.

I don't have the newest version of the Titan so I'm not 100% sure how bulky the leg loops are. Mine are very bulky an I only use them when I'm strait up aiding. If you try to free climb a lot in them they will start to get on your nerves, and will scrape against each other when you're climbing. This is why I would use the leg loops from my Caddy, combined with the Titan hip section. I'd try both on, get your fit and call em' up. The dudes over there are super awesome and will hook you up.

DONT !!!! Unless your a nose in a day guy , while the 369B makes an ok trad harness it absolutely sux dog balls for walls ! Same goes for the BD big dump ! Er gun !!!! But the black garbage harness will give you slightly more padding . If you use ether of them for a serious wall you had better take a butt bag or a bosons chair unless you enjoy your ass/ legs going numb !

I haven't used the misty harnesses as I'm a Yates fan all the way but friends I know that climb in em swear by them .

I know what ur trying for but pard let me tell ya ur not going to be happy with ether the 360 or the big gun on any wall unless it's a gym wall

Cheers
