If you are looking to break into the guiding realm, Acadia Mountain Guides has a great summer guide/intern program. You need to be a solid and experienced climber to be hired, but you don't need guiding experience. It is paid. I know a few folks who have had good experiences there, some of whom used the experience to move on to other guiding work.
