Approach shoes to replace Vasque Scree

I have two pairs of the (old) Vasque Scree. They were mostly for hiking, but with the Stealth sole they climbed better than my D7s (which I hate).
Then Vasque went and replaced the sticky rubber with crap (the 2.0 - which sucks beyond words)
I have fairly narrow feet & want mid/high ankle.

Any ideas before I destroy my current pairs?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
