I have a new pair of Scarpa Crux's. They kick ass, but the tongue is CONSTANTLY sliding to the side on both shoes. Anyone find a fix for this?

Did you run the laces through the small loop in the center of the tongue?

I work for a footwear company and we have the occasional person complain about this issue... I always ask to see their feet and the majority of the time, their instep (top of the foot) will be slanted the way the tongue is sliding. Could be that?

I have those shoes. I have the exact same problem. Don't have that problem on any other shoes.

Here is a picture of what is going on. As you can see, the loops on the tongues are threaded, but the tongues have slid all the way to the side. I can not figure out how to make that stop...

Tie an overhand knot in the laces itself on the outside edge of the tongue loop to keep it from migrating.

You may find, however, that it will rub on your instep if you do that, as your instep is probably why the tongue migrates in the first place.

I also have those shoes and have the same problem. Out of all the shoes I've ever had, I can't say I've had this problem.

I've got high arches, and the top of my foot slopes down sharply to the outside. The tongues of most shoes I wear tend to migrate out until they're "centered" on this part of my foot. None of them have ever caused any comfort issues, so unless I'm tying my laces, I ignore it.

PS: YMMV, but the tongues of my Camp Fours stay put very well.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
