Does anybody have detailed approach beta for the Warrior from the main road (not the loop) - as the title implies. I'm only out there for four days and trying to be efficient. I've read the comments and route description so have an idea.

Edit: @ Red Rock

Cheers

The combo of the internet descriptions and the Handren guide descriptions got my partner and I there without a hitch.

Also, when were you thinking of going up there (your comment doesn't give an indication)? If you are in town now, given the forecast and precip you may not want to get your heart too set on climbing at red rock...it takes a while for the rock to dry and that route faces NE and thus takes a while to dry out.

Sounds good. I'm not there at the moment in a few weeks. Ha I guess it's coming down over there now.

Yeah, it's raining...can't see the escarpment from my house 5 mins from the park (not normal).

The Warrior is fantastic and definitely one of my favorite routes I have been on in the park, feels more like a climb in the Valley than a Red Rock one.

I've eyed it for as long as I've been at "the grade" but didn't manage to get on it in '09. Coming back with a stronger group and after some time in the sierras this summer feel like it should go no problem as long as I'm not totally pooped on the approach - med school hasn't been conducive to cardio stamina

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
