Any climbing SE of Mena AR (cossatot)?

I got invited to go camping/fishing on the upper end of the Cossatot and am wondering if I should bring a rope. Short, dirty, and obscure/unexplored is fine, but I've never been to that area so I have no idea what kind of potential is there. Anybody who has been down that way care to share some advice?

Thanks

Not sure if there's much climbing down there, but it's probably worth bringing some gear with you. The rock in the Ouachitas tends to be a little chossier. The best Arkansas climbing is north of I-40. If you can make the trip up that way you'll be a happy camper. Horseshoe Canyon has a ton of sport routes. Sam's Throne is amazing and Cave Creek is practically across the street. I love the Cowell crag just for the fact the camping is right next to the rock but the routes are a bit shorter. Mt Magazine has a few great routes and is a bit closer. Pretty sure there's some opportunities for some FAs with a little bush whacking. Even if you're stuck around Mena, life could be worse. It's gorgeous down there. Talahina Scenic Drive is with checking out. Cedar Lake has some great fishing right over the border in Oklahoma. There's also a smaller lake that's not on the map with free primitive camping and great fishing. Just go past Cedar Lake road, make a right on Game Trace road and follow that a few miles, go right at the T, and look for it a few miles down on your right. Have fun.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
