It's my birthday weekend and me and my friends were planning an epic climbing/rope siwingin' adventure around but we are real worried about the weather I was hoping someone local could give me their take particularly for potters road and corona arch we were planning on leaving fri morning and staying through sun

Big powerful system. It WILL rain and as has been discussed many times, sandstone needs to dry out after it gets wet. Unfortunately looks to be statewide.

If you're serious, you should know that if you try to call 911 your cell phone probably won't hit a tower there

Perfect plan B, slot canyoning in the rain.
By the way it's Potash Road.

So since everyone seems to think these flash flood things are a risk (dont they only occur on the full moon anyway?) what sort of PFD should I bring to help protect myself?

If you want to keep the troll going, you should quickly change PFD to Life Preserver. Much more believable.

yep anyway a sincere thank you to those who responded to my original query. to everyone else thanks for having some fun on a bummer rain out day!

And if anyone's down we'll be going swift water snorkeling in the upper animas tomorrow afternoon

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
