Luke Childers going for the killer slaps on "...

Description

The start is the same as "The Pearl." Instead of pulling onto the slab face and using a nice crimp to gain the upper arete, continue directly under the belly of the steep arete to the finish. Sorry folks, pulling onto the slab at any point does not count for the free ascent of this line. Good luck and happy sending!!

Location

It is in the same area as the "Black Pearl Boulder."

Protection

Pads and a spot!

Did something break on this? I was up at it today and the top section looks (and felt) impossible. I don't see how this goes without using the slab. Any beta?

I was on it today and got pretty close by dynoing to the crimp high and left on the arete. I'm sure it will go, I was hitting it with my fingertips. Right hand on the final hold before the slab on the Pearl, left hand on the slopey crimp to the left of it. Used a right heel hook and a terrible sloper on the face to get to that point.
