I've searched and read a bunch of threads, but haven't really found any insight. My question is specific.
Is it reasonable to expect to find camping outside Tuolumne in Inyo National Forest if we arrive late afternoon/evening Monday night on Labor Day, or is this wishful thinking?
I would be hopefully optimistic , definitely wouldn't count on it though...
...but there is plenty of BLM land further down the road towards Lee Vining . Check out Horse Meadows Rd. or Log. Cabin Mine Rd. You can basically throw your bag out anywhere on those roads , or on any of the many off shoots of those two .
