Ancient Alien life form in need of identification.

I came across this really old Alien last night and was looking for some info as to its history.

Information that might help:

Both the trigger and the bar attaching the wires are made of plastic.
The sheath does not have the word "Alien" sewn in like later models.
The tubing around the thumb loop is supple, not the stiffer plastic used in later models.

Here are some pics:

Whole Cam. CD for scale.

Head. Is that the "dimple" that was used to identify recalled pieces?

Plastic trigger and wire bar.

CCH logo. The material here has changed in newer models as well.

Any thoughts?

it's well before the recall. the dimple is much different than what you have.

That's the second different alien I've seen this month. Did CCH ever anodize their lobes? I saw a red alien on ebay with anodized lobes.

Yup, not the Dimple of Death but actually a weep hole to allow the braze to be done properly. No idea why they stopped putting one in the head, but they did and then started having problems with contamination and underfilled joints.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
