One of the most beautiful sections of the River Road cliffs, this area catches your eye as you whisk by in your vehicle or on your bike. It is sheer and slightly overhanging and is graced with elegant, dark, water streaks. This buttress is a section of the wall between Negro Bill and Short canyons and lies near mile marker 3. The rock is Navajo formation sandstone.
This buttress is located about 1.5 miles out of Moab along the River Road heading east towards Castle Valley and can be found on the south (shady) side of the road.
