Description
This large erratic lies south of the basin proper on the western slope, about 200 ft up the hill. With an overhanging arete and sheer wall with HUGE feldspar mega-crystals sitting waiting for your pleasure this stone is a great HB test piece.
On April 24th, 2013 Al Ordway of Bridgeton, ME passed after a battle with cancer. Al Ordway was owner and director of Camp Winona, a small boys camp with over 100 years of tradition of turning boys into men in the great wilderness of Maine. I would not be who I am today if I had not attended Camp Winona and spent my summers under the wings of such a great man. RIP Uncle Al... Brix Brax!

Getting There
From the sunset rock wall over the small hill heading NW towards the basin. As you hike downhill you should see this appear between you and the slope heading down into the basin. Also one from the South side could walk down to the stream and follow the stream to the basin floor. From here cut left along where the hill meets the swampy floor. Continue around the corner, keeping an eye up the hill for this erratic.
