Climb thin hand crack up to the Africa shaped feat...
Add Photo Printer View
Description Africa Crack and its neighbor "Ptooey" are two good options if the popular routes at Old Sandstone are occupied. Africa Crack climbs up the appealing looking thin hands crack to the Africa shaped feature and up the overhanging hand crack. Start in the thin hands crack, work your way up onto a slab, place gear, and unlock a tricky hand jam sequence to surmount the overhang to a jug. Finish over some easy but loose blocky terrain.
Location 10 feet left of "Ptooey."
Protection Medium sized cams all the way.
On the one trick in this climb.

| One move wonder but it sucks up gear pretty good and is a formidable challenge. |

| Yeah, Tony and I led a bunch of these routes one cold November afternoon. They are short but fun leads. |
