2009 Looking Glass Rock Adopt A Crag Event
Come on out and help clean up Looking Glass Rock! This is a great opportunity to meet other
climbers, give back, and drink beer to celebrate the area we all love to climb at so much. We have
T-Shirts for all trail day participants, gear pledged by local stores, companies and manufactures to be
given away as door prizes and silent auction. We will have an evening BBQ after the slide show in
Brevard. The silent auction will have everything from cams and ropes to clothes at the evening
slideshow event so come along to grab some great gear at a steel of a deal and support the Access
Fund in the process!
The trail work will be from 9am till around 1pm. After this most people will rope up for a few Looking
Glass Classics before heading back to Brevard for the evening event. If you can’t make it for the trail
day and climbing please come to the evening event to show your support for the Access Fund and hang
out with other climbers in the community.
For the trail day event bring shovels, picks, and rakes if you have them. Please wear work clothes and
sturdy, close toed shoes, no sandals. Also bring your own water and a lunch.
The day after the trail day and evening event Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School will be offering
a Climbers Recue Workshop, open to all climbers. There will be 6 spaces for the workshop and these
will be auctioned off with 100% of the money going to NC’s local organization, the Carolina Climbers
Coalition. To send in your bid please email info@foxmountainguides.com stating your name, contact
info and how much you bid for the day workshop. The top six bidders will win the places! This workshop
would normally cost $125 per person. Closing of the bidding will be August 8th.

Date: Saturday 22nd August
Location: Looking Glass Rock.
Meeting location: Guides Gear Outfitters/Fox Mountain Guides Office, 3228 Asheville HWY, Pisgah
Forest, NC 28768. (GPS location is 700 Asheville HWY).
Meeting Time: 9am
Goals: Work on the South Face (Slick Rock Falls), Nose (Sun Wall) and North Face Trails.
Evening Event
Location: Brevard Community Center
Meeting Location: Brevard Community Center, 1078 Ecusta RD, Brevard, NC 28712
Meeting Time: 6pm. Silent Auction from 6-7pm, Slide show presentations 7-8pm
Goals: Raise money for The Access Fund. Climbers get together with slide shows.
Climbers Rescue Event
Date: Sunday 23rd August
Location: Looking Glass Rock
Meeting Location: Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School
Meeting Time: 9am
