| Adks aren't exactly known for wide, but there is some to be found. There is a 5.10+ OW on the right side of the Spider's Web that looks very long and splitter. I haven't been on it, and don't remember the name, but it would be a good route to check out alongside the rest of the non-OW cracks at the Web. If you really want to man up, Creation of the World at Moss Cliff is the local OW testpiece. ~4 pitches long, some runout sections, and a lot of wide. Way-full-value 5.11. Another great long route with a lot of wide is No Man's A Pilot on Wallface. Remote, wild, and rarely done, it branches off of the much-more-popular Diagonal. Steep squeeze chimneys. If I remember correctly, you can get away without much (or any?...not sure) wide gear, thanks to additional (smaller) cracks that take gear. I did it in mid-November, and one of the squeeze chimneys was totally covered in verglas. Spicy! | FLAG |
