Description

Achensee region of western Austria. Mix of sport climbs, multipitch, and via ferrata (klettersteig). All in a beautiful, low alpine environment.

After climb activities include a quick dip in the huge Achensee, a popular tourist attraction.

Getting There

There are a variety of climbing areas around Achensee. Check the subareas for more information. In general, to get to Achensee drive down the Inntal Highway A12, then exit at Wiesing and follow the signs up the hill. You can also come directly south from Bavaria along the 181, but it will be faster to use the Autobahns in most instances.
