Accident in NC Today - Little Lost Cove near Blue Ridge Parkway

Anyone familiar with where this might have occurred? Looks like 221 area. We were up a Ship Rock today. Never saw a chopper. Typical news story. Cant tell if this was a true climbing incident or not. Kid interviewed did have a rope backpack coiled. I could not discern from the story what happened or where. Best wishes for a full recovery to the injured party.

It was a climbing accident, his name is Chad, he was at lost cove, rappelling and rapped off the end of his rope! fell 70 ft, suffered a broken hand, broken toes, dislocated shoulder and some head injuries, but he is already stocked on climbing again! lucky to be alive!
