I was just informed that a static rope and industrial pulley went "missing" from the Suicide Rock stairs next to the road.

One of the Access Fund volunteers told me the rope and pulley were stashed 20 feet up in a tree, not visible from the road. They left the worksite around 5pm yesterday (Sunday) and returned before 9:30am today (Monday).

Due to the location the gear was stored and the time they left the site for the day, it seems that the gear was likely stolen after dark on Sunday. Obviously this should be upsetting to everyone since these guys, and many other volunteers, were giving up their climbing time to improve the stairs at the start of the trail to Suicide.

Sorry for the negative actions of others when you guys are trying to do something positive. Here's hoping you get the gear back.
