Never been to the Fins and hoping to go soon. How is the road? The lower section says high clearance 2wd in maps I've seen, and the upper section 4wd. Anyone been up lately and seen how it is? Is the 4wd section rock crawling or just steep, could a car get up to the "high clearance" section? Trying to figure out what vehicles to take.
Also any good camping close to the lower lot, I always hear mention of an epic campsite by the 4wd access.

You need an all-wheel drive(subaru) at a minimum to reach the campsite... the road is steeep, but frequently graded. Still, a two wheel drive won't make it, even if the road has been recently graded. No other good camping exists in the immediate area. Hot and dry down low. Campsite has a stand of fir trees and is shaded. Enjoy.
