Tator Tot on top of the Abominable Snowman. Routes...

Description

This blade of rock is in the northern part of the Monster area and offers a lot of really nice new bolted lines as wells as old school routes, all long routes without much traffic nearby.

Getting There

From the Monster sign in, head on the trail to the west and cut off to the right up a bouldery gully. After a little scrambling over 3rd class boulders, you'll jump a small gap and then see a very obvious trail. Follow this trail down and left through a medium sized corridor. The Abominable Snowman will be on your right. The base of it is really gravel-y and worn.

Piranha Roof 5.10 PG13  SD : Mount Rushmore National Mem... : ... : Abominable Snowman
This route is named so because of Piranha Crack, the route to the right. The routes share the last 3 bolts. The route climbs over the totally atypical to the area and very obvious roof. Pull the roof and continue climbing the face to the left of Piranha Crack. Eventually, you'll see a pod off to your right with a tree growing out of it. Stay on the face to the left and continue up and generally left through the three bolts that are part of the route Piranha Crack....[more]   Browse More Classics in SD
