The crimp his left hand on is the opening move for Power Tools, that hold is not needed for Crack of Doom.

If you are tall, using this hold makes the move to the good flake straight forward. I am guessing the difficulty of the entry moves are height dependent. If you are under 6ft, this sequence will probably only screw you up.

Doing it without this crimp is like a v3 boulder problem...tried it 5 times before someone told me about the crimp. I am 5'10 and it was real "casual" to get over to the flake as my buddy suggested.

Micheal, your name has now been entered into a dissident database- very soon the climbing police will find you and bring you to justice.
