I'm thinking of checking out some of the 5.8s in the Netherworld area at Lost Wall this weekend. Has anyone seen/climbed these lately? Just wondering if they're too dirty and overgrown to bother with.

Nooner
Sweet Sassafrassy
Spank the Virgin
Beaver Cleaver
Twin Cracks

Nooner likes to grow poison Ivy, Sweet Sassafrassy should still be clean, Spank the Virgin might be somewhat dirty by now. Pappy once said it might be a little harder than 5.8. Beaver Cleaver is a solid arete, should be clean. Twin Cracks (I assume you mean the cracks to the left of Beaver Cleaver), FA Mike Crowder in the late 90s, btw, in case there is anyone ELSE inclined to claim an FA of a route at Lost Wall that's been done 1,000X. To the left of Twin Cracks is another twin crack, not as good, but it HAS BEEN DONE. It's called Pappy's Fire Dance, 5.7.

Thanks for the info, Jeff! I am very allergic to poison ivy so that's good to know about Nooner.

It was pretty deserted on Saturday except for some friendly Chattanoogans and some Army folks on leave. We had the pick of whatever climbs we wanted so we didn't make it past Booze and Broads. I think next time I'll try the alt entrance noted in the new DCA and head over to the Netherworld first.
