I'm thinking of changing to Anasazi Velcro's from my old Coyote's, but not sure how tight I should get them. Would be great to hear your
experience about their break in behavior. THX

They will stretch a half size if you really cram yourself into them

They do not stretch much at all. Don't size them too tight or they will make you miserable. I wear them in the same size as my street shoes.
That said, Anasazi's are my favorite shoe. I've owned many pairs of them over the course of 14 years and haven't found anything I like better.

Damn fine shoe. Too bad I lost mine. Agree with the others, they won't stretch. Maybe 1/4? Buy them how you want them to feel later on.

Either my Anasazis stretched a little bit or my feet did. I was given a pair that I could only wear for 5 minutes at the longest initially. Now I don't notice them after a half hour.

I have a pair of these that are about 4 years old with 4 resoles on them. My new pair that is the same size are tighter for sure.

I also buy them in my street shoe size.

Also is you're changing from coyotes to anasazis, you're feet are gonna feel like you changed from the driver seat of a old busted Geo to a Ferrari....get em tight, they'll hurt at first but you will learn to love em!

Yep, they don't stretch too much at all- maybe a little. I wear a 10 in street shoes and bought a 10 in the Anasazi. And as said above, after only 4 months of climbing 3 days a week they STINK.

Oh yeah...they stink horribly. Mine are offensively rank.

To keep the stink to a minimum, keep some foot powder in you pack and apply after every use. That's always taken care of the odor for me.

Mine streched a half size as well. To keep them from stinking try this product - OdoBan. It is a spray I am using. This stuff works great, use a few times a year and that's it.

Mine (old style heel) stretched less than half a size. I sized down a full size from my street shoe (US 8.5 to 7.5). By far my favorite pair of climbing shoes.

If you are buying a somewhat high performance shoe like the Anasazi you aren't going to benefit if the shoe is too big. 1-1.5 sizes smaller is probably ideal. If you want an all day shoe go with something meant for that.

I'm a chick and purchased the 6.5...the left fits fine, the right is miserably tight (I have big toe issues on the right foot). I usually wear Sportiva Miuras in the same size but only because they stretch at least a half size. Also, are the Anasazi good all around shoes and comfortable for slab climbing? Miuras on slab suck. I want to be part of the red stained foot club...
Moccasyms stretch a lot since they're unlined leather.

Anasazi VCS are great for all around and slab climbing IMO. I use them for everything but really steep bouldering.

They stretch like a mother--.... Keep climbing in em, they'll break in better than that classic leather baseball glove you used for years as a kid - and stain your feet for months.
Enjoy, really a great pair of all purpose climbing shoes
