Dude ground-falls 30' because his belayer didn't have her had on the brake end of the rope. Dude then goes back up and finishes the climb with the same belayer. That is just the beginning; there is so much wrong in this video. Enjoy!

"I should have caught you, huh?"

Totally his fault, he should have just banged her in the car and skipped trying to impress her.

You think he would at least say something about her belaying... or not climb again. I'd place more gear too if the rock is that loose. Oh boy. cjon3s

Aiding. Photo by Locker.
What. The. Hell.

He just jumps back on the rock without even a "keep your break hand on the rope."

Amazing he wasn't hurt at all. I had to stop after he decked, too painful to watch.

Also, helmet cam climbing videos really suck, don't they?

i am bored and lame. I needed to get that out of the way first.

so, I watched a few more of his videos. The fall is really not all that surprising when you see the other stuff the dude is doing. I don't want to be a dick, but he really has no clue. In one video he gets to a ledge at the top of the climb and calls off-belay before he clips into his anchor. He then proceeds to build the biggest death triangle, not-really-an anchor I have ever seen.

In a few other videos he does some equally unsafe stuff.

The kid has balls, I'll give him that. I hope he gets some common sense and instruction before he gets really hurt.

So, you're saying I shouldn't take tips from him on cam placements? Isn't stabbing them in the best way? Matt N

Who knew that when clipping into a two bolt anchor at the of a climb, opposite and opposing carabiners are not really necessary... NC Rock Climber

El Cajon Mtn. Leonids. 5.9.
Wow. . .
This guy runs out everything, places sketchy pieces and from the looks of the second video he has no clue how to anchor. I wonder if those people with him climb like that. I hope not but im sure they do. Be careful who you climb with out there. . . and who belays you. yikes

I haaate bad belayers! Don't they know someone's life is in their hands? He might as well have been free-solo-ing, then he would not have to carry pro and stop to place it. There is no point with a fake belayer (unless he lands on her to break his fall). I can't believe her blase attitude about letting someone deck Ana Tine

This guy's videos make me surprised that there aren't more climbing-related deaths each year. I'm sure he's not the only one out there who does some of this stuff, though I haven't heard of anybody taking a 30' grounder and then getting up and finishing the route like that! And I must say, he seems like a nice guy - he's more concerned about his belayer and her comfort than himself. Shawn Heath

Given the plethora of videos of this sort, you have to ask, does climbing with a gopro make you a moron, or are morons just more likely to climb with a gopro? mmainer

It's all good as long as the belayer has enough hair spray.

He's a Marine, so he's indestructible anyway.

He decked from running it out, not from belayer error. But it's doubtful she would have caught him even if he wasn't in groundfall range.

50/50 chance when he bites it, it won't be from climbing:

Being ignorant of danger is not the same as having balls. A 5 year old who finds a loaded handgun in his grand daddy's closet and decides to play with it does not make the child really brave.
