Anyone racing it this year? I'm doing it solo and it'll be my first endurance race. Any anecdotes or good stories from race day?

I did the race in 1999.
It was the first time any of us had done a race like this. We had not trained but were just doing it as a combined biking/climbing weekend.

Fortunately, we had perfect weather. It would be really be miserable if it was raining.

Yup! That's me. Don't miss RBR one bit. When we started the Usenet bicycling newsgroups way back in 1982 (net.bicycles) it was a lot of fun. But by the mid to late 90's it had deteriorated so badly that it was virtually impossible to have an educated and civil discussion.
