Russ Just off the block
I just got back from a trip to Zion (2/16 - 2/17), where a new partner got two of my cams stuck. A red C4 #1 near the top of pitch one, just after the pendulum, a few feet left of the anchors, and a yellow #2 Master cam on pitch 8 (or maybe 9, we linked so I cant remember). So if anyone wants a booty project that might be worth your time. They were pretty stuck when my partner placed them, and I worked on each for about 10 minutes, the #1 might be retrievable with just some elbow grease and patience, the yellow master cam should be retrievable as well, at that point it was dark and we were topping out and I could not see and did not want to mess with it anymore, bring a narrow nut toll and you could even rap from the top and work on it. If you can thread some thin cord behind the trigger it would come out for sure. If you happen across these and want to get them back to me I'll mail ya 20 bucks other wise enjoy the cams, there both in good shape.

Hey, I was the party below you. I noticed the #1, it was pretty stuck. Didn't really try to get it out. Also, I tried to find everything you guys dropped from your bivy, but only found the cup looking thing. So I put it on your car I believe... I would have been right behind you guys on the climb, but my partner had a panick attack on the 2nd pitch and no way in hell could I get him to keep going. I even offered to lead every pitch. I'll just have to come back and rope solo it.

Anyways, hopefully you guys found your cup.

Hey Dan, thanks for trying to round up the stuff I dropped, it was only the rest of our food :{ we topped out in the dark later that day, then came back and wandered the hill side with our head lamps, we found my partners jet boil and a water bladder, we tried to pick up everything we could, cause nobody likes a litter bug, and it turns out that a jet boil can still work after falling 600+ feet. The deer got the rest of our food before we could. We thought there might have been a problem when your haul bags where still on the first platform at noon. Hopefully your next attempt on the route will go more smoothly :) Danger-Russ Gordon
