The start of the climb, as visible from the base of the final rappel. I think the first 6' of the climb are the crux.
Above this you follow a right leaning crack with great pro on a steep but less than vertical face, mostly using face holds. There are some strange sections due to the leaning nature of the crack and the horizontals slanting down and right.

The top pin is the Clog 1/2" angle that was pulled out of the middle Friday's Folly in the late 1970s. The bottom pin was given to me by Roy Holubar in the early 1980s. We found it on the floor of his old blacksmith shop.
This is an old Clog 1/2" angle that was pulled out of the middle of the route in the late 1970s.
The initial hard move. This is protected by a fair cam in a big pin scar, but the cam could pull. If you're tall, and if you've filled the big layback pin scar with the cam, it may be more secure face climbing left of the crack as John is doing here and then stepping right.
