Looking up from the base of the route.

Approaching the route via Mills' Glacier in August 2022. We chose to come from the left, to minimize our time on steep snow and ice. It was a 3rd Class traverse to the base of the route after an initial DFU 5.0 rock step getting off the glacier.

I'm posting up this photo in memory of one of my all time favorite climbing partners, "Big Bob" LaGrange (R.I.P.). He and I did a June ascent of Stettner's in 1961.
