Greg T. did a pair of my shoes (Mythos). He did a great job!

Troutman did my resole on my TC's. Did a great job, and even added extra rubber where crack climbing had chewed my rand into nothing. He also widened the last on my shoes slightly making them more comfy for long crack climbs.

Left a pair of TC's with locker at Positive resoles when I left Joshua after seeing his work and feel very good about them. Was told there are a lot of new hires at Rock and Resole so the work isn't as consistent as it used to be

resole from old cobbler at Gear Room

Sorry about your TCs chris862. I can guarantee you that those were the work of the old resoler for the Gear Room. Even though you had them done 6 months ago by a different resoler, I'd be happy to fix them up for 50% off. I can resize them for you as well. PM me with any questions.

I second Greg's comment. I just had a pair of beater slippers re-soled and they're perfect! I even asked for a custom thing and Greg did an amazing job with it.

I'm super heavy (200#'s) and love my Muira Velcro's. They're the perfect blend of stiffness and sensitivity. I asked Greg to please experiment with putting a little plastic plate into the old Cava slippers. We went down to the Grail a few weeks ago and like an idiot, I cut my toenails too close. Having those shoes saved my bacon because they edged like crazy and didn't kill my feet.

Its really nice to work with someone who took the time to do it right.

It's great to see these positive comments flying around. I'll have to bring my shoes in. Hopefully Greg can repair the mess I was left with from the last repair.

So I just got my shoes back from the Gear Room and I might as well add my review to the thread. As you can see from the photos the rand needed to be replaced and I needed new rubber on the bottom. I have only included before and after photos for the shoe that was in desperate need of repair. These are my favorite shoes and I have to admit that I was pretty reluctant to give them to a stranger. I have to say that I am pleased with the repair job, my shoes fit EXACTLY the same as they did before. I have yet to climb on them but I don't expect this to be a problem ( I will edit this post if they feel at all "off").

The total cost for the repair was $53. I find this to be comparable to Rock n Resole seeing as how there was no shipping cost. They said it would be a 9 day turnaround on my shoes due to the cobbler being on vacation and they were spot on.

Will I go back to the Gear Room in the future? Yes. I have already dropped off moccasyms and will be taking my miuras there as well.

Sounds great, but we have no idea or good options in SLC.

Ill add another positive review for the newer Gear Room resoles. My anasazis had holes completely through the toe and now they climb like new again. 3 months of decent use and the resole is still holding up strong. I bet this is also the fastest option for locals as there is no shipping and the work was done faster than what I was quoted when I dropped them off, took about a week.

Thank you to Greg and the Gear Room! Ill be back for more

Any more recent updates about Gear Room resoles? Still doing quality work?

Just had a pair resoled by Gear Room a couple weeks ago. Good work and quick turn-around. Would definitely recommend.

The gear room does great work. I’m still climbing on a pair of resoled hiangles from two years ago (the original rubber only lasted 3 months). As for recent work, I just got back 5 pairs of shoes from them. From super aggressive talons to moccs, they all fit like they should/did before. They even salvaged a pair of predators that got eaten by a mouse and were chewed through to the rand (they feel like new). Support your local shops!

I had a pair of Butora Alturas resoled with Technostick at The Gear Room about a month ago.  I've climbed outdoors with them in BCC a few times now, and I am very, very pleased.  I would highly recommend The Gear Room for your climbing shoe cobbling needs!
