Crags near LA

^ uh how did you miss the huge homeless camp at the Quarry? Close to a dozen full on ghetto camps. Seems like trash has gotten way worse since the fence went up. Aside from that it really is great climbing. |

if anyone is looking at going to echo cliffs or malibu creek on saturday, I'm game. Shoot me a PM! |

But I stand in my statement. There are no panhandlers bugging me at the roof area. ;-) Happy Thanksgiving times to all ! |

Yeah thats the area. Today the shanty town was going strong. Doesnt seem like they bothered any climbers. Everyone enjoyed great conditions tell sundown. |

Yeah that gate has been wide open lately... But the shanty town is pretty far from the crag.... Far enough for me not to notice it! Lol. |

Nice suggestions from everyone, though it's interesting to hear others strong opinions about certain areas. I for one find Malibu Creek really nice. It can get crowded, but not always, especially if you go early. If you find trash (again, somewhat inevitable), I've taught my kids to simply pick it up rather than complain about it. |

so I spent the day at Echo yesterday, the hike in was nothing serious. The climbing was suprisingly pretty fun. we climbed at the left flank and the Java wall. It was pretty crowded but the regulars said it's usually no more then 2 or 3 groups. I would definatly go back. |

Nice! Glad to hear you guys got out and had a good time and the family folk got in and out OK.. you never know.... Java and LF are definitely nice an close compared to the farther east walls past the Alcove..... Echo is awesome! |
