We are looking to cross country or backcountry ski at the following locations. I Know it is supposed to snow a little on Mon/Tue/Wed but only see a couple of inches in the forecast. I also know it is supposed to get a whole lot colder. Anyone knows about:
- Lassen NP (park page says "patchy to 12 inches", that's a big range)
- Bodie ghost town (too early yet?)
- anything out of Twin Lakes (go up Little Slide Cyn to the Hulk?)
- South Lake, North Lake, Lake Sabrina out of Bishop (how far can you drive on the pavement?)

Or any other suggestions are welcome.

thanks guys!

Umm Im not sure if this helps. But I know some people who have been cross country skiing around Mount Shasta.

Twin Lakes Areas: A couple adventurous folks skied on nearby Dunderberg Peak, looked bony to North

North Lake: You can drive to North Lake Trailhead, light snow on north facing aspects, bare on southern aspects, looks pretty rocky even up high towards Lamarck

Info current as of today.

Lassen NP IS patchy on the south entrance. North entrance, manzanita lake has 8-12 inches. Supposed to get more this week. I will be up at Juniper Lake tmrw and can give you a better idea if you would like.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
