I was hiking the canal today and it appears a rock fall occurred some time before the Friday snowstorm. Not sure if the routes were impacted, I didn't want to hang around. Debris was scattered from the route "beastso" to "lambada" - basically the length of the crag. The event was not a massive rock fall, but enough came down that if it happened during climb time everyone in that section would have been injured or killed.
Thanks for the notification! Went up there this morning and you're right -it was a big rockfall. Will post pictures later, but wanted to bump this thread.
If you are planning to climb at CZ - it looks like there's still some unstable rock- wear a helmet, be prepared for loose rock on routes, and it's possible some bolts/anchors may have been impacted esp on the right side of the crag.
Here are some photos of the rock fall taken this morning (22Nov) - guessing it happened after the snow and cold spell (rocks sitting free on top of ice/snow). Maybe during the windstorm early this week? It's a very good thing this happened when no climbers were present - it would have been pretty devastating.
