But is it theoretically possible to go directly to gearexpress at SLC to buy some stuff?I have picked up an order from Gear Express at the address posted below, but no, it is not a normal gear shop. I'm sure if you called ahead and let them know what you wanted they would be happy to have it ready and allow you to purchase it there though. |

Be sure to check the used gear section in IME for great deals...also try The Gear Room in the Cottonwoods area, see thegearroomslc.com/ for more info and also 2nd Tracks Sports in the Millcreek area, see 2ndtracks.com/?target=main for more info and the Patagonia Outlet in the Sugarhouse area, patagonia.com/us/store/pata… for clothing |

Backcountry.com is located here in SLC. While mainly a huge online retailer offering most everything outdoorsy, they do have a showroom here in town where you can go in and they will pull stuff from the warehouse for you to look at and try on for size. It helps to have shopped the catalog beforehand so you have narrowed down what you want to try. Details are on the Backcountry website. Have a good trip to City of Rocks and the Northwest. |

If you drive through Reno, you might want to check out Sierra Trading Post. I've bought lots of clothing from their website (often very heavily discounted) but they have an honest retail shop in Reno, I hear. |
