Planning to do some bouldering at either Asheboro or Moore's Wall on Sunday 11/22. Anyone want to meet up? I will be going solo and I have my own pad. Could use some beta on these areas of anyone would like to share.

I would also be interested in some nearby toproping. I have limited experience, but I'm always down to learn more. I will have my harness and belay device with me, but I don't have a rope.

Thanks!
Rob

Cant meet up, but wanted to say thanks for joining the Carolina Climbers Coalition!!! I think its awesome that only CCC members get to boulder at Asheboro...its a nice incentive to join! If others aren't members, but would like to boulder at Asheboro, you can join over the web and have instant access to your Asheboro pass, check out carolinaclimbers.org/climbi… and carolinaclimbers.org/civicr…

The CCC works hard to protect and further climbing access in the Carolinas and at Hidden Valley, VA and membership dues and donations help keep that happening!

Hey Brad,

Thanks for the warm welcome! I have been meaning to join for quite a while so it is long overdue. Thanks for everything that you do for the climbing community in NC!

I know camping is not allowed at the boulders, any recommendations for good places nearby? I see a few different campgrounds in Asheboro.

As Brad said, thanks for the support! With forecast temps in the 50s I'd head to either Asheboro or the 2 mile or Valley areas at Moore's. 2 mile might be the bit warmer of the Moore's choices. The boulderfield at the base will feel pretty cold with highs in the 50s. Depends on your tolerance for cold, you might find it to be great conditions. 40s to 50s are pretty ideal Asheboro conditions.

I haven't personally camped around Asheboro since I live close enough to daytrip. You might try the Uwharrie National Forest camping as it's nearby: forestcamping.com/dow/south…

Awesome, thanks for the beta Brian! Planning to head to Asheboro, hope to see some other people out there.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
